ESR-J: Energy-aware operation taking account of stress on equipment
Institution: Technische Universität Dortmund
Supervisor: Prof. Sebastian Engell

Education
Egidio Leo studied mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Italy). After working as a junior researcher at the National Italian Research Council, he joined the chair of Process Dynamics and Operations at TU-Dortmund as a Marie Curie Early Stage Research Fellow in September 2016 to work in the PRONTO project.

Work Experience
After his master degree, Egidio worked as a junior researcher at the National Italian Research Council. His research line was focused on the solution of large-scale optimization problems applying decomposition techniques. His work was performed in the context on European projects.

Current activities
Currently, Egidio is employed in the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering (Process Dynamics and Operations Group) at the Technische Universität of Dortmund (Germany). There he is a PhD student and Early Stage Researcher working on optimization under uncertainty. Furthermore, he is a Visiting Researcher within INEOS Köln in Germany and the CAPD department at CMU in Pittsburgh, USA.
